Visitors on a long rural road want the street name confirmed as much as the number. The Penbrook Extra Grande 2-line plaque gives them both at a size that reads from a distance, with 4-inch numbers above a 1.75-inch street line. The photo shows 1628 Lockwood Drive in gold on a bronze background.
Line limits on the Penbrook Extra Grande 2-line plaque
Line one holds up to five characters at 4 inches tall. Line two holds up to 14 characters at 1.75 inches, which is a taller street line than most two-line signs offer. Lockwood Drive is 14 characters including the space, so longer names may need an abbreviation. Both lines are raised lettering, cast at the same time as the plaque.
What it’s made of
Each Penbrook Extra Grande 2-line plaque is cast in the USA from recycled aluminum, so it won’t rust. It’s finished with an all-weather protective coating that carries a five-year warranty. Four finishes are offered: Forged Copper, Black/Gold, Bronze Verdigris and Bronze/Gold. Bronze/Gold, as pictured, is the traditional choice, but Black/Gold is easier to read at the edge of dusk.
Compared with the one-line version
The one-line Penbrook Extra Grande gives you 5.5-inch numbers and nothing else. This Penbrook Extra Grande 2-line plaque trades a little number height for the street line, so it’s the better fit where the street name actually helps people find you. Both share the same four finishes and the same recycled aluminum casting, so the choice is about layout only.
Count your characters, then check the spelling, because personalized orders are cast to your text and can’t be modified, cancelled or returned. Other large yard signs are under lawn address plaques, and the Signature Collection page lets you compare the Penbrook with the Leroux side by side.
