Home brewers tend to name their operation, and the Bottle Cap brew pub plaque gives that name a place to live. The sign is shaped like a bottle cap, with a tap worked into the design and one line of raised text. The sample in the photo says ‘Sikkenga’s Beer’. Yours might be a last name, a nickname or the street the garage sits on.
One short line, so choose it well
The text line takes up to 9 characters at 1.25 inches tall. That is enough for most surnames with an apostrophe-s, but not for two words. Write it out and count, including spaces. If the name is long, the Brew Pub Collection has wider plaques with 12- and 16-character lines.
Seven finishes on the Bottle Cap brew pub plaque
You can order it in Antique Brass, Antique Copper, Black/Gold, Bronze Verdigris, Dark Bronze/Gold, Oil Rubbed Bronze or Pewter/Silver. The single-tone finishes like Antique Brass and Oil Rubbed Bronze look like aged metal. The two-tone finishes paint the raised letters and cap details in gold or silver against a darker ground, so the text pops from farther away.
What it’s made of
The plaque is cast from recycled aluminum in the USA. Aluminum won’t rust, so a Bottle Cap brew pub plaque can hang by an outdoor kegerator or on a covered patio without streaking. The all-weather coating is backed by a five-year warranty. Then again, most of these end up indoors over a bar.
One thing to know before ordering: the lettering is part of the casting. Personalized pieces can’t be modified, cancelled or returned once the order is in, so double-check the spelling.
For other designs, the Brew Pub Collection has barrel, arch and oval shapes with the same seven finishes as the Bottle Cap brew pub plaque. If you’d rather mark the house than the brewery, the wall-mounted address plaques use the same aluminum and coating.
