Logo Quality Analysis
Cast bronze plaques are two-tone — raised metal elements on a recessed background. For a logo to cast cleanly, every line and every gap between lines must be at least 0.06" wide — our conservative minimum to ensure reliable results in every casting.
The preview shows exactly what your logo will look like when cast. Detail that is too fine simply disappears into the background — because that is what happens in real casting. Gaps that are too narrow fill in and merge with the surrounding metal. If your logo is losing too much detail, try making it larger using the size slider below, or consider an etched insert for fine-detail artwork.

Before You Upload Your Logo
Understanding how your graphic becomes a cast bronze plaque
🎨 Cast Plaques Are Two-Tone Only
A cast bronze plaque has exactly two elements: raised bronze (your logo's dark areas) and recessed background (the colored areas between elements). There are no shades, gradients, or in-between tones.
Think of it like a rubber stamp — everything is either raised or not. When you upload your logo, the designer automatically converts it to show you this two-tone result.
Photographs, gradients, watercolors, logos with many colors, drop shadows, soft edges or glows
📏 Minimum Line Thickness & Spacing
Every line in your logo — and every gap between lines — must be at least 0.06 inches wide at the final cast size. This is a conservative minimum we use to ensure clean, reliable results in every casting.
The preview shows this in real time. Detail that is too fine to cast simply disappears into the background — exactly as it would on a real plaque. Drag the logo larger on the plaque and watch detail reappear as the physical size grows.
✔ Will Cast Cleanly
Heavy outlines, bold shapes, well-spaced design elements, logos designed for signage or engraving
✖ Too Fine to Cast
Fine feather detail, thin decorative lines, tight hatching, very small text, intricate filigree
📁 File Quality Requirements
SVG (vector) — Always the best choice. Scales to any size without quality loss. No resolution limit.
PNG / TIFF at 600px+ per side — Good quality for most uses. The designer will flag if resolution is too low.
JPG — Acceptable at high resolution, but JPEG compression can blur fine edges. Avoid heavily compressed files.
Low-res files (under 300px) — Will be flagged. The logo will appear pixelated and blurry when cast.
🔲 When Direct Casting Won't Work
If your logo has fine detail that can't be cast, we offer etched inserts — a separate piece of bronze with the design chemically etched into it, then set into the cast plaque. Etching can reproduce much finer detail than casting.
If the quality check shows significant lost detail, contact us and we'll advise whether an etched insert is the right solution for your design.
